Dr. Modest Furest Roca scientifically verifies the mineral-medicinal properties of the water emerging from a spring in Caldes de Malavella (Girona) and decides to acquire it, as well as the adjacent lands.
The Vichy Catalan brand is registered months after inaugurating the first bottling plant.
Laying of the foundation stone of the Vichy Catalan Spa, whose construction was completed in 1904.
Inauguration of the ‘novísima,’ an innovative state-of-the-art bottling plant in the bottled water market, with the capacity to fill 6,000 quarter-liter bottles per hour.
The technological innovation at the plant continues with the acquisition of a new machine capable of filling 20,000 one-liter bottles per hour.
The company undertakes a diversification strategy and acquires new springs and brands of renowned prestige:
1979: Acquisition of the carbonated natural mineral water brand Malavella.
1986: Incorporation of the natural mineral water brands Font d’Or and Les Creus.
1988: Incorporation of the natural mineral water brand Font del Regàs.
1994: Incorporation of the brands Aguas de Mondariz and Fuente del Val.
1999: Incorporation of the juices and nectars brand Lambda.
2004: Incorporation of the natural mineral water brand Monte Pinos.
Vichy Catalan and Font d’Or are selected as the ‘Olympic Waters‘ for the Barcelona’92 Olympic Games.
Launch of the first naturally carbonated mineral water packaged in a can with a biodegradable lid. In the same year, the range of 0% Sugar Flavors by Vichy Catalan was also introduced. The complete range was finalized in 2015 with flavors including Lemon, Orange, Lime-Lemon, Mint, and the Vichy Catalan Premium Tonic Water.
Mondariz Water is considered the Best Water in the World, being the only brand to have received 2 Diamond Taste Awards, the prestigious accolade designated by the International Taste and Quality Institute (ITQi) of Brussels
Launch of the Vichy Catalan Fruit range, a new healthy beverage made with Vichy Catalan and fruit juice, without added sugars and sweetened with stevia.
